Last time Topps is making football cards....enjoyJan 24, 2010
By O. Rios Seems that loyalty has no place in the business world.
After more than 55 years of producing football cards, Topps has lost it's football license and will no longer be making football cards. The same company that brought you some of the greatest rookie cards ever (Montana, Payton, Namath, Bradshaw, Staubach, Unitas, Starr, etc) is done.
so this is their final installment. 2009 Topps football is a solid set of cards. 440 total cards including over 100 rookies, playoff games, pro bowl cards, and award cards (ROY, MVP).
the retial set box includes a pack of 5 varation rookie cards only available in set version. they include (Mark Sanchez, Stafford, Donald Brown, Darrius Heyward-Bey, and Percy Harvin).
i would recommend getting the set version from Target, as they included special NFL Draft cards of Tom Brady with Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez with Peyton Manning, and Adrian Peterson with Knowshon Moreno.
overall, solid set of cards, it's just sad that after this year, Topps football will be no more.
